まちのかけひき

Shape the future of a city over 50 years. In Machi no Kakehiki, you make policy decisions for a fictional city. Each year, choose policies and see how residents, businesses, landowners, and neighboring cities respond. Set values for regular policies or choose a strategy from several options. Your decisions affect the city's population, finances, industry, transportation, living conditions, environment, and trust. As the city moves from its founding stage through growth, expansion, maturity, and reorganization, its challenges change. Review policy history and city indicators to see how today's choices shape what comes next. There is no single correct answer. Balance short-term budgets with long-term investment, and cooperation with competition, as you build your own future for the city.
