BackupSafe

BackupSafe Companion shows the backup state of a BackupSafe Mac that the user registers in person. Compare the six-digit code independently shown on both devices and confirm a match on the iPhone to pair once, then read nearby progress through BLE and receive restrained local completion or error alerts. The comparison code is never entered or transmitted. On iOS 16.1 or later, an active job can appear as a Live Activity. On iOS 15, status remains available in the app and through supported local notifications. No account or internet connection is required. Detailed errors, file-level verification, and backup controls remain in the Mac app. A completed status on iPhone reports the state verified by the Mac at the time of the job; it does not guarantee the later condition of the storage media.
