What determines control of a square on a chess board? If you can attack a square, you control it. Board Control colors every square by which side can attack it, so you can see every move at once. Most chess apps show you one piece at a time. Tap it, get a few dots. Here the whole board is colored in: green where White can attack, blue where Black can, blended where they overlap, and brighter wherever more pieces are pointed at a square.
