Captions tell you what was said. In a room full of people, you also need to know who said it. CaptiVision Host turns your iPad into a captioning studio for Deaf and hard of hearing people. A few iPhones running the free CaptiVision Client app stand around the room. The iPad finds the person talking, magnifies them on screen, and writes live captions with their name in front of every line. SEE WHO IS SPEAKING • The person talking is magnified in a lens, with the rest of the picture dimmed. • The camera view showing them gets a bright border, and the view can follow them from camera to camera. • Detection watches whose lips match the sound, so someone nodding or chewing is not mistaken for the speaker. • A person seen by one camera and heard by another is one person, with one name.
