Five in a Row – known as Caro in Vietnam – is a classic strategy board game that takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master. The same game goes by many names: Gomoku (gomokunarabe, 五目並べ) in Japan, Wuziqi (五子棋) or Gobang in China, Omok (오목) in Korea, and Caro in Vietnam. Think of it as Tic Tac Toe grown up: instead of three in a row on a tiny grid, you need five in a row on a large board. HOW TO PLAY Players take turns placing X or O on an empty square. X moves first. The first player to make an unbroken row of five – across, down, or diagonally – wins.
