Cinch - The game

A bead runs clockwise around a ring. Hold to lay a band of colour behind it. Let go before it runs into the ink. That's the whole game, and it is harder than it sounds — because the only way to score well is to stop as late as you dare. An arc pays by its length, and stopping within a couple of degrees of the ink pays triple. Every run is the same question, over and over: one more degree, or let go now? HOW TO PLAY • Hold anywhere to start laying an arc from wherever the bead is • Release to lock it in — the closer to the ink, the bigger the multiplier • Painting into ink ends the run • Fill the band until no gap is big enough to use, and the ring seals • Seal a ring and the next one arrives, in a new colour, with more ink in the way WHAT MAKES IT TICK • The bead only ever speeds up.
