Field Atlas

Field Atlas is a notebook for places. Take a photograph of whatever stops you, write a line about why, and keep walking. The place and the time attach themselves. That is the whole of it while you are there — a photo, a sentence, and back to looking. The rest happens afterwards. TOGETHER When someone else records at a place you also recorded at, their photographs appear beside yours. You will find that you were standing in the same room, minutes apart, noticing different things — one of you reading the architecture, the other reading the label. Side by side puts your shot next to theirs, one card at a time, and you can leave a comment on any of them. You only ever see records from places you went to yourself. There is no feed of strangers, and no way to browse someone's archive. The overlap with your own footsteps is the boundary. YOUR OWN EYE Over time the app can tell you how you look…
