Hake’s Auctions

When Hake’s Auctions began as Hake’s Americana & Collectibles in 1967, items were sold exclusively through priced sales lists, not the auctions we have since come to be known for. These lists were mailed around the country, with East Coast recipients receiving theirs first, often resulting in items being sold before the list arrived in the mailboxes of potential buyers further west. The auction format was implemented to give collectors around the world a better chance to actively pursue those special, long-sought items for their collections. Hake’s entered a new era in 2004 when founder Ted Hake sold the company to Steve Geppi, whom Ted knew and trusted to be the next steward of a revered auction house.
