Hitomoji puts one Japanese character on your lock screen every day. You already pick up your phone a hundred times. Each glance is now a kanji — the character, the reading, the meaning — without opening an app. The course is built in order. You never meet a character whose pieces you have not already been taught. Miss a week and you come back to the next card, not a pile. A larger home-screen widget shows the same character on paper.
