You drag back, the world slows down, and you let go. After that there is nothing to do but watch the curve you just threw and find out whether you judged it right. There is a guide, and it points dead straight, so it tells you almost nothing. No power meter, no numbers to dial in. The camera holds perfectly still the whole way, which means the throw is yours to read and yours alone to get right. LANDING IT IS ONE THING. LANDING IT CLEAN IS ANOTHER. Anything that touches the fire lights it, so you are never stuck. But there is a version of every throw that goes in dead centre, straight out of the air, and both you and the game know the difference. Clip the edge and it still counts. Bounce it off a hill, let it roll the last stretch and catch, and it counts too, and it feels far better than it should.
