Kidwiz - Draw'n'Cut

Draw'n'Cut turns a phone photo of a hand-drawn picture into a file a laser cutter can use. Photograph the drawing, or bring one in from your photo library. Tap the figure you want cut out and the app finds its edge. The pen strokes inside become engrave lines and the outline becomes the cut line. Adjust three sliders until it looks right, tap any line to make it a cut instead of an engrave, and export a DXF sized to the width you want. Open that file in your cutter's software and cut. The result is the drawing itself, in wood or acrylic or cardboard: a kid's fish with its own scales scored into the surface, a robot with the buttons still on its chest.
