Mini Chess Games

Mini Chess Games teaches children chess one piece at a time. Instead of starting with a full game, it starts with a single piece on the board and a goal square to reach. Solve the puzzle in the fewest moves and you know how that piece moves for life. There are puzzles for the king, queen, rook, bishop, knight and pawn, each in easy, medium and hard. Then come the mini games. Each one uses just a couple of pieces, so the rules stay small, but you play against a computer opponent that gets tougher as you level up: • Rook vs 5 Pawns: get a pawn past the rook • Lonely Knight: get a pawn past the knight • Pawn Wars: eight pawns each, first to the far side wins • Pawns vs 2 Bishops: sneak one pawn past two bishops • 2 Bishops vs Pawns: play the bishops and stop all eight pawns • Kings vs Knight: catch the knight with three kings • Knight vs Kings: survive 15 moves against three kings •…
