Misakit

Misakit predicts when and where a runner will arrive on a set course. The runner and everyone following see the same predictions. WHEN THE SIGNAL IS GONE, THE PREDICTIONS CARRY ON Coverage drops out for hours at a time on a mountain course, so no app can keep sending a position. Misakit works from the reference times prepared for the course and the pace worked out from the positions that have arrived so far, and predicts where the runner is now and when they should reach the points ahead. The predictions keep moving even while nothing is getting through. RECORDED OUT OF COVERAGE, SENT WHEN THE SIGNAL RETURNS Taking a position does not need a signal. Open the app out of coverage and the position and time are kept on the device. The same goes for checkpoint reports. They survive closing the app and restarting the phone.
