ODN Deck Setup

ODN Deck Setup gets the deck units of the Ocean Data Network online. A deck unit is the box on a fishing vessel that collects the readings of the ODN sensors on its gear and sends them to ODN. This app connects it to the internet, so its data reaches ODN on its own. HOW IT WORKS 1. Put the deck unit into setup mode with a magnet. The app shows you how. 2. Your phone connects to the deck unit's temporary Wi-Fi network. 3. Choose how the deck unit should send its data: • Wi-Fi: pick the vessel's network and enter its password. • Mobile data: enter the APN of the deck unit's own SIM card. 4. Watch the deck unit's lights. The app asks what they did and shows only the advice that applies. 5. Check that it is uploading: enter the deck unit's ID to see when its latest file reached ODN, and its battery level.
