ParcelBeam moves files between your devices the short way — straight across the room. Your iPhone and your computer are on the same Wi-Fi, a metre apart. Sending a file between them should not mean uploading it to a data centre and pulling it back down. ParcelBeam sends it directly. It handles the case nothing built in does: your iPhone and a computer you are not signed into, in both directions, with no account anywhere. ParcelBeam speaks an open transfer protocol that free clients already implement, so the far end does not have to be another iPhone. Photos, videos, documents, whole folders: pick them on your phone and beam them to your computer over your own Wi-Fi. Nothing is uploaded to a cloud, nothing passes through anyone's server, and there is no account to create. If the two devices can see each other on your network, the transfer happens.
