Persian Paradise

Persian Paradise is a bilingual guide to cultural achievements that shaped ordinary life across Iran, from Cyrus the Great (c. 550 BCE) to the 1979 Revolution. The catalog is not a list of sole inventions. It is a careful look at value: poetry that helped people remember who they were, crafts that clothed and housed communities, music and dance that brought people together, festivals and rituals that marked the year, science and medicine that served daily needs, and practices shared among Iran's many peoples. Meet the peoples of Iran. Each community has its own page with photographs and short, warm write-ups about where they live, their food, their arts and crafts, and their music, dance, and festivals. Explore Baluch, Kurd, Lur, Gilak, Mazandarani, Azerbaijani, Turkmen, Qashqai, Arab (Khuzestan), Armenian, Assyrian, and Jewish communities of Iran, then dive into the catalog items…
