Plonkworks: Pegboard Machines

A half-built machine hangs on a pegboard. A few parts wait in the drawer. Snap them into place, press Run and watch the ball roll, bounce, get punched, blown and fired all the way to the basket. While a part is in your hand, a dotted line shows what it will do next. Only the next step, never the whole run: aiming is easy, and the machine is still yours to work out. HOW IT PLAYS • Drag a part from the drawer onto the board. It snaps to the holes. Tap it and round keys turn it or send it back. • Tap any part to see what it does: a small machine shows it at work. • Press Run. Every part that does its job gets a number: the machine counts its own links. • A miss leaves the trail of the run and a ring where it went wrong. Change one thing and run again: the re-run skips what you already watched. • The same build always runs the same way. Nothing is left to luck. • No timer and no lives. Undo…
