Pointfield Camera

Converts your camera and your videos into abstract particle images you move with your fingers. Pointfield Camera resamples the live image into tens of thousands of particles. Each particle sits at a random position and takes the color of the image at that point, a stochastic form of stippling. Fine detail drops out while shape, light and color remain, so it works best with simple subjects and strong contrast: a face against a bright window, a silhouette, bold colors. The particles are drawn on the GPU in real time and respond to multi-touch, motion and haptics: - Drag: the speed and direction of your finger feed a fluid simulation. The particles are carried by the flow, then ease back into place.
