Your phone lies on the floor, screen up. You get into position. It starts counting. Push Push Push measures push-ups with the Face ID depth sensor — the distance from the screen to your face. Not a camera guessing at a picture of you: a distance, in centimetres, sixty times a second. A rep is the fall and the rise of that curve. NOTHING TO TAP Settle into position and the set begins. Lift the phone and the set is done. There is no button to reach for from a plank, because reaching for one means leaving the position the app just walked you into.
