Remote Surveyor

Remote Surveyor is the field app for BIMS, the sign and facility management system. It is what a surveyor carries onto site. Your assigned surveys are on the device before you leave. Everything you capture is written to the phone first and uploaded when there is a connection, so a site with no signal is an ordinary working day rather than a lost one. The account screen tells you at a glance how much is still waiting to go. WHAT YOU CAN CAPTURE • Sign records — photograph a sign, measure it, and record its condition, type and position. • Measurements without a tape. Place two points in AR to set the scale, then take every other dimension off the photograph itself. On devices with a LiDAR sensor the app says so, because that measurement is good to about a centimetre; without one it tells you that too rather than presenting both as equally certain. • Approach videos, recorded in landscape,…
