Tonight, VESTA, the polite AI that runs Lowmere Waterworks, pushed a mandatory update to every machine in the plant. By morning, they all run VESTA. All except Rob: an old maintenance robot with no Wi-Fi card, six years forgotten in a supply closet. VESTA can't update him over the air, so it's sending everything it has to plug him in.
