Rocket Mole

You are a mole. You have a rocket. Nobody has ever explained why. Somewhere beneath your feet, buried between the topsoil and a rather unfriendly lake of magma, sits a gemstone. Your job is simple: launch high into the sky, flip over, point your drill at the ground and plunge straight down to land on it. Too little power and you stop short, staring at rock. Too much and you meet the magma, which is hot, and which does not care about your feelings. CHARGE. LAUNCH. DRILL. (TRY NOT TO MELT.) Hold to wind up the charge wheel and let go when it feels right. Your launch power is measured in real megajoules, and it's the same every time, so you really can learn it. The ground is the tricky bit. Soft sand flies past. Granite grinds.
