About Ruderal

Ruderal is a field journal for plants that take hold in pavement cracks, wall mortar, curbs, brick joints, asphalt seams, and rooftop trays. Pin each fissure on the map with its surface and width. Log what grew there: daisy, dandelion, plantain, moss, fern, chickweed, willowherb, or a grass tuft. Attach a photo from the camera or your library and a short field note. Record whether the plant is always in the crack, only after rain, after a freeze, on the shade side, or in a summer burst. The After Rain list keeps only those rain-locked returns, so dry days stay off that page. Pressed plates mark a dried specimen of a sighting you want to keep. Field kit stores millimetre or inch width, an optional morning nudge to walk the cracks after wet weather, and a restore of sample sites when you want the atlas filled again.
