Slumbio: Sleep Sounds & Alarm

Most sleep apps play you a recording on a loop. Given long enough, you start hearing the seam. Slumbio mostly does not have one. Thirty-five sounds, and thirty-three of them are made as they play, from noise and filters, one frame at a time. Rain that never falls the same way twice. A fire that crackles when it feels like it. Wind that gusts and settles on its own schedule. Two are pre-rendered files, and they are the only two here that repeat. Layer up to six of them. Each has a level and two controls that reach into the sound itself, so a light rain becomes a downpour, or a room becomes a bigger room. BREATHING YOU CAN SEE A soft body of light sits behind every screen.
