Solarseum: Solar System Museum

Earth looks big until you put it beside Jupiter. The gaps between planets look small until you see them to scale. Solarseum is an interactive space museum for iPhone and iPad. Visit the Sun, all eight planets and selected moons. Move around each world, take a closer look, and use time to watch it change. WATCH DAY TURN INTO NIGHT Move time forwards or backwards and follow the boundary between sunlight and darkness across Earth. Look for city lights on the night side. SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN SIZE Line up worlds at their true relative sizes. Compare Earth with the giant planets, then pull back to take in the Sun. FOLLOW THE LIGHT Explore the distances between worlds. Send light out from the Sun and watch it reach the planets, with arrival times that make those enormous gaps easier to grasp. Use the time control to move the journey along.
