SurfaceScan

SurfaceScan turns a compatible iPhone or iPad into a local, bounded RGB-D surface-capture tool. Place the bright blue metric box over the surface you want to digitise. Adjust the box with direct gestures or precision controls. SurfaceScan accepts camera-derived colour and measured depth only inside the box’s six clipping planes. Use LIVE while the box remains editable, or lock the box for a fixed protected capture. The app keeps the protected metric mesh separate from its presentation preview. Capture points, capture rate, confidence, mesh resolution, mesh refresh, fusion stability, surface continuity, and preview smoothing can be adjusted without removing the core capture workflow. Review the result, then save or share PLY, OBJ, STL, or USDZ.
