Teri

Teri is a four-player trick-taking card game played in fixed partnerships — you and the player across from you against the other two. Every round starts with the bidding. Call how many of the thirteen tricks your side will take, opening at seven and climbing from there, or pass. Win the bidding and you name trump and lead the first card, which is an advantage and a target at the same time. Then comes the part that makes Teri its own game: points are bad. Make your bid and the points go to the other team. Fall short and your own side takes double what you called. The first team to reach fifty-two points loses, so every round is a decision about how much you are willing to promise.
