Thaal is a book discovery and social reading platform for literature that English-first apps serve poorly — starting with Malayalam. Most reading apps treat a Malayalam novel as a badly-spelled English one. Titles get mangled into romanised approximations, covers go missing, and the books that shaped a literature are nowhere to be found.
