Two Notes: Ear Training

Ear training is the most useful skill a musician can have, and almost nobody practises it — because every app for it opens on a grid of jargon. Two Notes never asks you to learn a word before you can play. The first questions ask only whether the second note was higher or lower. THE REVEAL While the two notes sound, the screen tells you nothing. Mute the phone and you cannot answer — that is the point. The moment you answer, the two notes are drawn in their real relationship and resolve into a short musical phrase, so you hear the interval doing something musical instead of sitting in a vacuum.
