Vault — Local Files

Keep a private library of documents, photos and other regular files. Vault encrypts its local library on your device. No Vault account is required. Extra app authentication starts off for a new vault; existing protected vaults keep it on. Turn on “Require authentication to open Vault” in Settings on iPhone or About your vault on Mac to add a system check. Files stay encrypted with this off, but anyone using your unlocked device can open Vault. ORGANIZE YOUR LOCAL COPIES On iPhone, select files through Files or items through the system Photos picker. Import regular files, arrange them in folders, filter by type and search filenames while Vault is unlocked. Imports leave originals in their source locations.
