VEILWATCH Verify confirms who you are using the secure chip in your passport. You will only need this app if a government department or regulatory body has asked you to verify your identity. They send you a link or a QR code, and the app walks you through the check. There is nothing to sign up for and no account to create. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the link the organisation sent you. The app shows who is asking and what for, before you decide to continue. 2. Scan the bio page of your passport with your camera. 3. Hold your phone against the e-passport chip to read it. 4. Take a photo of your face. 5. Review exactly what will be sent, then send it. WHY THE CHIP MATTERS The chip in a modern passport is signed by the country that issued it.
